Songwriting Bible by David Foster will teach you everything you ever wanted to know about songwriting and also give you a bunch of samples you can try out to see if you have a talent for it. He also has some great ideas to write songs around.

Some of the other free music writing books I like are Song Writer’s Toolbox by Tom Mankowski and Song Machine by David Gerber. These two books are just plain good, and they will give you all the information you need to write a great song. Both of these books come with CDs, and you can use them as guides along your way to writing great songs.

You might even find some good free songwriting books at your local library. I would check around before buying anything, though, because you never know who is selling or borrowing the books.

You can get a great e-book on this subject for just under fifty dollars.

Final Thoughts and Recommendations

The Song Maker by Tom Mankowski has a whole chapter on how to write a song from scratch, with samples and tips to help you write some songs from scratch. This e-book is full of samples of songs he has written that he has played for others and has become well known for.

Another great e-book I like called the Songwriter’s Toolbox will give you the information and tools you need to start right now and write your first song. You’ll find sections on lyrics, instrumental ideas, song structure, chord changes, lyrics, and more.

This is by far one of the best free songwriting books on the market today. It comes with an easy to read CD for a great learning experience.

I’m sure there are more free songwriting books out there, but the ones listed above should give you all the information you need. To start writing songs and learning how to write songs today.
